Forecraft Help

How Forecraft works, what it connects to, where the plan boundaries sit, and what to do when something looks off.

Product Overview

What Forecraft is built to help with

Forecraft supports recurring monthly close review for operators, finance leads, and CPA advisory teams. It explains what changed, produces exportable reporting artifacts, and preserves context across saved packs.

Data Sources

How data gets into Forecraft

Overview handles P&L uploads. Balance Sheet has its own upload zone on the Balance Sheet page. You can also use the CFO Intake workbook, Accounting Export (P&L + Balance Sheet combined), or pull directly from QuickBooks on Advisor, Practice, and Firm plans.

Outputs

What Forecraft produces

Review Center workflow, Balance Sheet review, variance analysis, recommendations, cash runway, saved packs, and export artifacts — including Print Pack on Advisor, Practice, and Firm plans.

QuickBooks

What QuickBooks support includes

Premium and Enterprise include a QuickBooks connection with monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet pull. Starter workspaces load files manually.

Plans

How plan boundaries work

Starter covers manual close review and basic exports. Premium adds recurring cadence, Print Pack, and QuickBooks. Enterprise adds strict mode for data integrity and scenario comparison tools.

Trust

What is sourced vs derived

Uploaded or connected financial data is the source of record. Forecraft derives comparisons, variance percentages, ratios, and reporting artifacts from that data. It handles the review and communication layer — not full three-statement modeling.

Troubleshooting

What to do if upload or Fix Headers stalls

Make sure Month, Item, and Amount are mapped — Category is optional. If the preview looks off, correct the column mapping before proceeding.

Saved Pack

What saved pack mode means

When you see Saved pack loaded, exports and print draw from that saved review. Return to live data to run a new review.

Strict Mode

What affects totals and strict mode mean

Strict mode pauses analysis when total-affecting issues are detected. Review the flagged items, fix the source data, and re-upload to resume.

QuickBooks

If a QuickBooks pull fails

Retry once. If it fails again, reconnect QuickBooks from the Settings page, or share your workspace ID with Forecraft support.

Workspace vs. Browser

What stays shared vs. local

Saved packs, tasks, and cadence are shared across the workspace. Some in-progress review state is browser-local for performance and does not sync.

Reporting a problem

If something looks wrong

Pull the workspace ID from your Account page, note whether the issue is in live review or a saved pack, and capture the error text or a screenshot before reaching out.
